St. Antony’s Secondary School is directed by Mrs. Joann Boulos-callias B.A, B.Ed, M.Ed, native of Antigua.
Upon the completion of her secondary education in Antigua, Mrs. Boulos-Callias went on to study at St. Mary’s University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1982; Major French, Minor English. She acquired a Bachelor of Education Degree in 1983 which qualified her as a Secondary School French/English Teacher. She returned to University in 1988 and graduated 1 year later with a Masters of Education with Major concentration in Administration and Supervision.
Mrs. Joann Boulos-Callias
Mrs. Boulos-Callias taught in the secondary division of Christ the King High School between 1983 and 1988 and upon her return with her Masters, she became a Senior Lecturer at the Antigua State College from 1989 to Dec 1992 and again from March 1999 to July 2001. She then fulfilled a 3 year contract from 2001 to 2004 as Principal of St. Joseph’s Academy, all male secondary school, making history by being the first female Principal in a Christian Brothers School. She then moved on from 2004 to 2006 to Island Academy, where she completed a 2 year contract as Principal of both the Primary & Secondary divisions.
She then made a decision of take a sabbatical of 1 year. During this time, she has been continuously pursued by concerned parents hoping to convince her to finally open her own school. It is done!
