One of this year's new activities is "Carpentry".
With the help of Mr. Boulos-Callias, 27 students: boys and girls from ages 12 to 17 took part in the Carpentry activity set to run on Wednesday's and Friday's from 2:40 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Upon the request of Mrs. Boulos-Callias for the need of picnic tables and benches, the students embarked on the process of building 10 Tables and 20 Benches.
The process started with the Planning and figuring out what wood and tools would be needed to make the project reality and the students quickly got together and worked tirelessly in teams of 6 (or at least that was the plan!!!).
Well, the result is quite impressive. Many students had never touched a square or even a level before, but their will and willingness to work hard and learn paid off. They should all be very proud of themselves...the tables and benches look great and they even now have private orders to deal with....Congrats from Mr. Boulos-Callias!
Next term...an individual project to take home? Hope you guys remembered what you have learned?
